Yep.
And if Man U stumble at all on Sunday, its group stage, if we win.
Also the same if we win and they win the Cup and Liverpool don't win their Cup or if Liverpool don't climb into the Europa League spots.
Simple.

OK I can understand what you have written but I am just going by what I have read.
The point is that we cannot really work anything out yet until the final games have been played as Man U could still finish anywhere between 4th and 7th, Us between 5th and 8th
As long as we win, we will be in the Europa. At least that is certain!

hammerforever - that's wrong. In that situation, Liverpool's 7th place gets UPGRADED to champs league - it doesn't get allocated to anyone else

That is one that many places have printed but seems wrong unless I am missing something.
If Man U has won the FA Cup then 7th is a Europa League spot, which means Liverpool has already qualified for the Europe League which in turn means that if they win the Europa league, the federation "loses" a EL spot. So 5th and 6th are EL and 1-4,7 are CL.

6th can be group stage if Man U win the Cup.
The order is
FA Cup, 5th (Group stage), League Cup (3rd Qualifying)
So if Man U were 5th and won the Cup, the 5th place (Group stage) would pass to 6th.
However, if Liverpool were to win the Europa League AND qualify through the league (say 7th) in the same scenario, the 5th place (group stage) spot would be taken as their Champions League spot. So 6th would be the League Cup spot.

I did say in a certain scenario, which is this
8th place will Qualify for the Europa League IF Liverpool win the Europa League AND finish seventh AND Manchester United win the FA Cup and finish in the top six AND Manchester City qualify for the Champions League (by whatever means).

There is a scenario proving Soton dont win.
Liverpool win 3-2, we lose 2-1.
Both sides would have scored 65 and conceded 51. I guess then it is head to head which we obviously would be a place higher.

The only time 8th would get a place is if the team finishing 8th also won the Champions League or the Europa League. You could get 8 clubs in Europe - 5 Champs and 3 Europa, but that would only happen if the winners of Champions League or winners of Europa league did not qualify for Europe in the league. If they finish in a Europa place that gets upgraded to a Champions league place and it doesn't go to anyone else.

My understanding is that a maximum of five entries to he Champions League from any one country. This allows for a side winning the Champions League or Europa League and finishing outside the top four. If this scenario comes into play it does not affect the number of entrants to the Europa League. However, as we were until, recently in a position where both Liverpool and Man City could have qualified by winning trophies whilst finishing outside the top 4, this would have meant that the team in fourth place would have taken one of the three Europa league places, another would be taken by the FA Cup winners (lets say Palace) and the other by the League Cup winners - City. As City would have qualified already this would have gone to the next qualifying league position (5th) meaning that 6th place loses out.
As City lost to Real Madrid, none of this comes into play so 6th place is now guaranteed Europe, whether Palace win the cup or not. If Manchester win then 7th will qualify.
That's my understanding anyway.

No it's not.
4 Man City 65
5 Man Utd 63
6 West Ham 62
7 Southampton 60
8 Liverpool 59
Both Liverpool and Southampton can go above us on Sunday if we lose to Stoke.
Liverpool are only 2 goals behind in GD so can be realistically over-turned.
If we beat Stoke we're guaranteed 6th. Lose and it's out of our hands but could just as easily finish 8th still.
Swansea V Man City
Man Utd V Bournemouth
Stoke V West Ham
Southampton V Crystal Palace
West Brom V Liverpool
4th place is on if we can win 8-0 and Man City lose 7-0 at Swansea (and Man Utd lose or draw at home to Bournemouth)

We need Man City to finish 4th so that their cup place goes to a league.place and for Man U to win the FA cup which will give another league place so it could go to 7th.
I have read that it could even go to 8th place with certain scenarios
